Weight of the World — Learning Built for It

Most organizations are preparing to deploy AI onto work that was never formally documented.

I assess what your organization actually has — work instructions, processes, and the expertise that never made it onto paper — then build the documented baseline your training and AI initiatives depend on. Standards first. Systems second.

The Name Means Something

Every learner carries something.

That's the truth behind Weight of the World — the idea that learning doesn't happen in a vacuum, and curriculum that ignores the weight people carry doesn't work. The systems I design start from that premise.

My practice spans defense contracting, technology, higher education, and organizational development. The work has been consistent across all of them: find the expertise that actually runs the operation, understand how it was acquired, and rebuild it into something the organization can transfer at scale. Certification systems built to satisfy external customer standards. Work instructions for programs where documentation errors carry consequences. Assessment frameworks adopted organization-wide, with the training to sustain them.

My academic foundation is doctoral-level cognitive learning theory — which means the systems I design are grounded in how people actually learn, retain, and apply complex information under real conditions.

What makes this urgent now: an organization that automates undocumented work doesn't automate the work — it automates the workaround, and loses the reasoning behind it permanently. Preparing a workforce to work alongside AI starts earlier than most people think.

How I Work

How the work proceeds

Every engagement starts by establishing what exists. Most organizations have less documented process than they believe — usually a personal framework held by one or two people, revised each month to fix the previous month's problems. That isn't negligence; it's what happens when capable people keep an operation running under pressure. But it isn't a foundation you can build training on, and it isn't a foundation you can automate.

Assess

Establish what actually exists — and where the risk concentrates.

Documentation & Process Gap Assessment

A structured review of what is documented, what is assumed, and what exists only in someone's head — with the gaps that matter most identified and prioritized before anything is built.

Training Needs Analysis

Audience assessment, competency gap analysis, and learning objective development — the front-end work that determines whether a training program will actually move the needle.

Establish

Capture the undocumented expertise and standardize it into something durable.

Technical, Compliance & SOP Development

Work instructions and standard operating procedures for complex regulatory, defense, or technical environments — written for comprehension rather than reference, version-tracked, and built to be adopted.

Knowledge Management Frameworks

Organizational knowledge systems and process libraries that make institutional knowledge transferable, searchable, and durable across team transitions and staff departures.

Enable

Build the learning assets the documented baseline makes possible.

Curriculum Design & Development

End-to-end curriculum for corporate training, onboarding, and workforce development — learning objectives mapping, content architecture, and assessment design.

Competency-Based Learning Systems

Tiered learning systems with clear competency benchmarks — from orientation through advanced qualification, assessed by demonstration rather than completion.

AI Literacy Program Design

Curriculum for organizations building internal AI fluency — teaching teams to work effectively and responsibly with AI tools, and to recognize when the output is wrong. Designed for non-technical audiences.

The Parent Brand

One mission. Two practices.

WoW Institutes houses this consulting practice and WoW Institute of Learning — a private learning practice serving homeschool families and special needs learners with individualized curriculum pathways. Different learners, same philosophy: standard routes don't fit everyone.
